Way back in 2019, we worked on this sweet project for a Shophouse in Thailand called Sri. Or Si. It actually had multiple names, each pronounced the same way, but with different meanings and spellings.
The shophouse itself was designed to have multiple personalities, if you will. Each room told a different story, and each room had a different purpose.
The idea was that visitors would experience something that evoked all the senses within each area.
We also branded the gift shop, with it’s own distinct feel. The master shop though, he’d to remain relatively neutral, to allow all of these personalities to sit within, in harmony.
For this reason, we chose a minimal and clean palette, to allow the vibrancy and colours of the other areas to stand out. We brought the personality of SRI into the word mark itself, via the missing pieces of the letterforms and the abstract shapes which from a different take on an icon.
We wanted this mark to feel contemporary and clean, but also a little quirky and playful. A mixture of this and that to represent the spaces and experiences to be discovered inside.
